Kennett Washington is dedicated to his work, compassionate, and understanding with his clients. Knowing the important values and benefits of a healthy life style has molded Kennett into Charlotte’s top personal trainer. Kennett has been featured in several of the tri-regions magazines including Steele Jungle, Natural Muscle, and Southern Muscle. As a guest columnist writer for the Lancaster News Paper, he continues to share his knowledge as the local fitness expert. As an employee during the mid to late 90’s, he worked at several of the health and fitness clubs in the metropolitan area. It was during this time that he realized that most clients were not receiving the true benefits, results and achieving their optimal potential from personal training.
Kennett knew that clients needed to understand fitness and program design. His goal has been to educate them by helping them understand a specific and complete program breakdown that helps them to understand their body and the basic physiology functions. Healing Strength breaks this concept down for all clients in simple terms and very easy to follow steps. Following this approach, Kennett has had a major impact on helping change clients’ lives forever. This vital approach has helped clients achieve tremendous weight loss goals. Specifically designed programs have time and time again yielded the results of fat loss or quality gains of lean muscle tissue. These are just some of the awesome benefits clients receive from one of Kennett’s training programs. Part of Kennett’s goal is to teach clients how to train their systems to respond to a proper individualized program, which allows optimal results and overall benefits to their health. Thus began the journey of “Medicine is Now in Fitness.”
Kennett values the art of discipline. With this level of discipline Kennett currently competes on the competitive and elite circuit of the National Gym Association(NGA) of Natural Bodybuilding, as a 2005-2008 NGA Pro-Qualifier and National Qualifying finalist. Since the year of 2010 Kennett currently ranks as one of the top NGA Pro Bodybuilders within the southeast region. As a National Academy of Sports and Medicine (NASM) certified personal trainer, Kennett has an extensive background in the study of the human body movement and performance. Kennett continues his studies through N.A.S.M. by attending continuing education courses and seminars. He has earned his Associates in Science degree through the University of South Carolina at Lancaster and is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.

Proper nutrition is significant in developing proper training techniques such as balance training, speed, endurance, strength training, power training, self-motivation, and improved self-esteem.
Healing Strength Personal Training’s goal and focus is to help clients become aware and educate them on correcting their improper balances of the kinetic chain as a whole. Understanding this functional concept has helped Kennett transform many clients’ lives. As a student under Jeff Martone, Kennett is also a Tactical Athlete and is certified as a Crossfit Kettlebell Instructor. Kennett leverages the principals and methods of Jeff & Crossfit to teach and help educate himself as well as others about the importance of functional training.
Kennett has been an elite athlete most of his young and all of his entire adult life. His roots of physical fitness grounded him very early in his career as an outstanding champion with Folk, Free, & Greco Roman Style Wrestling. As a martial arts student he has earned two black belts in two different styles of martial arts. One under Shihan Kenneth White at Kenaki Karate in Indian Land SC & his second study of the art is his home where he forever is continuing the study as a black belt student of Traditional Japanese-Okinawa & Korean Martial Arts under Hanshi James White at Universal Karate Studios in Lancaster SC. Kennett continues to leverage and evolve his functional background training with MMA instructors such as Hallie (Snake) Hair under Team Roc/Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu & he currently trains as a MMA athlete with John (John Savage) Latu at Shock Factor MMA. Kennett’s desire to master the art of discipline has been key to his success and helped him enhanced his knowledge as a professional trainer and expert in the health and fitness industry.
To have many of these tools as a Corrective Exercise Specialist has helped Kennett train and develop unique relationships with semi-professional, professional and Canadian football athletes, as well as pro bodybuilders, elite martial artists, tri athletes and collegiate athletes in achieving their optimum performance. Along his journey he’s developed lasting working relationships with licensed Chiropractors and Myotherapists within the Charlotte-Metropolitan area. He extends his knowledge to others in the general public by giving health seminars during which he speaks on the significance of nutrition, proper weight loss programs, and correcting the improper balances of the kinetic chain.
Kennett understands and is devoted to helping clients develop in any and every specific fitness goal possible. Kennett’s slogan “Medicine is Now in Fitness” is defined as this: many people workout but very few know how to properly train. The nervous, muscular, and skeletal systems are three powerful systems. If trained properly, clients can maximize their results; decrease their chance of injury, and help to prevent certain illnesses. The medicine is in the training and nutrition, and this alone can bring you total health and wellness by way of keeping you physically fit and healthy for a longevity life.
